Book Review: MY BROTHER NEEDS AN OPERATION written by Anna Marie Jaworski and Illustrated by Linda Bell

Told from the heart of a mom whose son was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.

This is a book the author wished was available when her son was born to help her understand more about Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and help her older son understand the changes in their new family.

Anna Marie Jaworski chronicles the challenging highs and lows that divides her and her husband to take care of their children, a life lived between home and hospitals so they may find help for her son who needs life-saving surgeries.  This beautifully written story is a story for finding a way to comfort their son who is now living a life, much different than he expected when his baby brother was born.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Johnson a published author from Decorah, Iowa. We had a delightful conversation about old coots, fishing tales, hunting, small town life and how he put together a collection of essays in his books. We talked about his new dystopian title releasing . . .
