I really enjoyed the prequel to this book and was eager to read the first one, so when I got the chance to read an ARC before it publishes, I was all for that! Just when Misty found herself a sweet little town with an awesome guy to hang out with--and awesome friends like Val and Matt, her crazy ex was back in the picture along with a cold case murder that Misty, Hank, Val and Matt were determined to crack wide open.
I just love those two cats, Doofus and Floofus and how sometimes the story was from their viewpoint for a scene or two. They were more helpful than you'd think! I got a kick out of the detective having a little trouble warming up to them, but he was at least considerate enough to know Misty like to take her cat kids everywhere.
It was great how they all figured out the whodunit on the cold case although I had my suspicions about one character for most of the book. It was awesome when they were caught. A couple other people were able to finally get a happily ever after out of it. And Misty's situation with her nasty ex turned out surprisingly in a good place. Ben definitely met his match!
