“Fried chicken, fudge, and books?”
Here’s the story about my bookstore and bistro that the KIMT Channel 3 News (CBS) aired at 5 p.m. today. It is supposed to run at 10:00 p.m., too, if you want to watch it
The story is about my Peacock Books & Bistro expansion unto the Peace Plaza, the prime location for any business, located in the heart of downtown Rochester, Minnesota, that connects up to the Mayo Clinic. My customers are international, and they stop every time they are back in Rochester for their checkups, or annual meetings. Until recently, we focused on selling my photos, comics, and art; books from my publishing house, and other publishers’ titles, classics, collections, and rare books. Many customers leave with our fudge my husband makes, around 150 flavors, with four of them sold on QVC Television (2011).
The other night, one of our regulars came in and told me, “You guys are all over Facebook.” She laughed, and then added, “They’re calling you the “Chicken Bookstore.”
KIMT picked up on it, and in this news story they share the details of our move, the history behind the name, share our new location, and share our bookstore that has no problem drawing in people for southern-fried chicken while the sample our books and fudge.
A big thank you to the journalist, Maureen Dudley, and the entire news team at KIMT for your coverage.
